What is ILD - Impact Leadership Development? Indiana ILD is a 10 month distance learning leadership development internship program designed to mentor, empower and equip high school and college students to be leaders and minister in their local church, community, and in their world. It is a launching pad to train up young people to fulfill God's destiny and purpose in their life.
How does it work? The ILD internship is divided into Zones 1 and 2, beginning in January with the PCG Leadership Conference, The Encounter, and ending in November at the Impact Indiana Student Ministries Fall Retreat. An info session is hosted during Fall Retreat for all pastors, parents and prospective interns as an opportunity to discover the heart and soul of the internship.
Interns explore what it means to be "called", discover key foundations of leadership, while applying their growth in outreach projects at local churches, Impact Missions Adventures, and various areas of service throughout the district.
Interns complete written assignments combined with the National Leadership Development Curriculum taught by the Indiana District Youth Director, commit at least 1 year of service supporting their local church, travel with the Indiana DYD and Impact Team to various youth gathering events, and serve as 8Mile Interns during Summer Camp where they directly apply their growth in the camp ministry under the leadership and mentorship of the Camp Director.
Interns successfully completing program requirements are invited to participate in a graduation confirmation at Impact Night during the Indiana PCG District Convention. This evening is a very special time when their pastor, youth leader, and/or parent(s) join their DYD to anoint and pray over the intern confirming the growth that has taken place in the life of the intern. Interns completing Zone 1 are then invited to enter into Zone 2 in the upcoming ILD season. Once and intern completes Zone 1 and/or Zone 2 they join thousands of students and young adults as ILD Alumni. They have a firm foundation and understanding of God's Word, and are ready to be launched as a leader and world changer. What is the content of the curriculum? Zone 1 ILD Curriculum includes 12 teaching lessons (DVD), with corresponding notes/workbook, weekly assignments, and two textbooks. Itis designed to run over a 12 week period (1 session per week). The Indiana District Youth Director follow up with the intern on a weekly basis, discusswhat they have discovered, where they are in their growth in their relationship with God and track their progress in the program. Weekly assignments and monthly reflection essays are submitted to the DYD via email or through the Impact Indiana Facebook page.
Zone 2 is designed for the Intern to apply their training in real life ministerial scenarios. The Zone 2 Intern finishes courses in bible study methods, homoletics and systematic theology preparing them for the PCG Exhorters License curriculum should they choose to pursue that avenue. The Zone 2 Intern is a critical part of the Indiana Impact Team, and helps support the District Youth Director in all facets of Indiana District Youth Ministries functions.
